1821-1858--French--Elizabeth Felix, The Divine Rachel, as (left) Phedre and (right) Rosalind. She was a tempestuous leading lady at the Comedie Francaise who demanded salaries as high as the Prime Minister and almost bankrupted the Comedie. Tuberculosis weakened her and she had a famous farewell performance.
