ca. 1906-1928--German/Swiss--Adolphe Appia's sketch of a "rhythmic space." Appia met Jacques Dalcroze in 1906 and started working with eurythmics, which led him to design spaces which would unify all the elements of opera and dances through the rhythm of the music.
