Description

1913-1920--French--The Vieux Colombier, Paris--after Copeau's reconstruction. He thought that be simplifying the stage to its essentials, it was possible to concentrate attention on the thoughts and actions of the performers--so he did away with painted sets and the apron in favor of a more Elizabethan setting.
